The truth about how your company works lives in meetings, messages, documents, systems and a few people’s heads. Every strategy project rediscovers it. Every build re-interviews for it. Every agent that runs without it acts on a generic idea of your company instead of the real one. WorkGraph is one record of how the work is done. It begins as what was observed. It gains the decision, the owner and the boundary. It gains the system that was built. It gains what came back. Nothing is replaced. The record accumulates, and it never resets. It is built for one company, governed by that company, and it stays yours whichever model you use.

  4. Evidencedwhat came back The result against the baseline. Every exception, with the owner’s decision. Named. Unchanged, or revised with a reason. The next decision. Decision, permission check and owner, back to this record.

The six fields

Six fields. Every state carries all six.

A WorkGraph record is not a dashboard. It is provenance, ownership and a way back, attached to a piece of work.

  1. 01StateObserved, Decided, Built, Evidenced. A state is never replaced. The record adds one.
  2. 02ContextWhat was found, decided, built or returned, and its provenance: the approved sources it rests on.
  3. 03OwnerWho is accountable, by name, at this state.
  4. 04BoundaryWhat may act, on what, and where it must stop.
  5. 05ActionWhat is done at this state, and by whom: a person, an agent, or the system.
  6. 06ReturnWhat comes back to the record: the evidence that would change the decision, the way back, the next decision.
